Russian, Turkish forces conduct patrol in Syria’s western Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police conducted a joint patrol with Turkey in the western countryside of Kobani, northeast Syria.
This patrol is the 70th between the two forces in the region since the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in northeast Syria in October 2019.
The patrol set out from Ashma village, 20 kilometers west of Kobani, and it included eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles in addition to two Russian helicopters.
It roamed the villages of Jarqli, Jibnah, Katash, Jeb al-Faraj, Darbazin, Binder, Qaraqwi Tahtani, Kola, Sosan, reaching a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) near a radio tower west of Kobani.
The patrol then immediately returned to the starting point in the village of Ashma, passing through the villages of Qaran, Dikmdash, Khor Khori, Boban, Seftak, and Jarqli Fawqani.
The Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the radio tower west of Kobani.
On August 31, the 69th Russian-Turkish patrol in the region was conducted in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
