Casualties resulted in IED explosion in north Syria’s Afrin
AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, an IED, which was placed inside a car, exploded in the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin, northwest Syria, killing a person and wounding another.
“The explosion took place near a fuel store in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood in the city of Afrin, which resulted in the killing of a person and the injury of another,” an exclusive source told North Press.
“The explosion was followed by a huge fire in the place which led to significant material damage to the area,” the source added.
On June 26, three people, including a child, were killed as a result of an IED explosion, which was planted in a car near Kawa Roundabout on Azaz road in the city center of Afrin.
The city of Afrin and its environs northwest Syria, have been occupied by Turkey and its affiliated armed opposition factions since March 2018.
