Unidentified body found in Syria’s Deir Ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, residents of the village of Hariza, 30 km east of Deir ez-Zor, found the body of an unidentified young man near a primitive oil refinery on the outskirts of the village’s desert.

One of the owners of the primitive refinery in the town told North Press that the young man is unidentified, does not have any identification papers, and is about 25 years old.

According to eyewitnesses, the body does not belong to a person from the town, and the young man’s body does not exhibit any signs of torture.

The body was taken to al-Salam Hospital in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor, for examination, according to eyewitnesses.

A doctor from al-Salam Hospital told North Press that the cause of death was suffocation due to the presence of hand marks around the neck, and the death took place about 72 hours prior to his discovery.

Assassination attempts against members of the Syrian Democratic Forces, employees of the Autonomous Administration institutions, tribal notables, and local residents are increasing in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, some of which have been claimed by ISIS.

On August 18, garbage men found the body of a young man near the garbage dump in the town of Baghouz, east of Deir ez-Zor.
