68 days of violent bombing in Syria’s Daraa al-Balad by Iranian-backed factions

DARAA, Syria (North Press) –  Daraa al-Balad and the besieged neighborhoods in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, witnessed fierce bombardment on Monday by pro-Iranian factions which have been besieging the area for 68 days.

The Iranian factions used various types of weapons in their bombardment of Daraa al-Balad, especially Golan and Vail surface-to-surface missiles.

Local sources told North Press that pro-Iranian factions and government forces are trying to storm Daraa al-Balad, Tariq al-Sad Road neighborhood and the camps from three points.

The attacking forces are trying to storm from the Bedouin neighborhood, the Bahar neighborhood, and al-Qubba, the source added.

The reason behind the intensification of bombing and targeting of civilian neighborhoods is the Central Committee’s rejection of what it calls “impossible conditions” and proposals of the government forces and Russia.

A local source told North Press from the town of Naamer, north of Daraa, that a number of town’s residents went out in evening protests in solidarity with the residents of Daraa al-Balad.

On Sunday, local gunmen attacked al-Jam’ia point, the Qita junction checkpoint, and the government forces’ political security point in the city of al- al-Sanamayn, north of Daraa.
