Russian warplanes bomb Turkish-backed Syrian factions in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Russian warplanes renewed the shelling of Turkish-backed Syrian armed factions’ posts south of Idlib, northwest Syria.

Russian warplanes targeted the outskirts of al-Bara town in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib with vacuum missiles, military sources from the factions told North Press.

As a result of the shelling that targeted forests and surrounding lands of al-Bara town, some trees were uprooted and the near houses were partially damaged, according to the sources.

On Thursday, Russian warplanes conducted airstrikes on the factions’n sites in the towns of Kansafra and al-Fatira in Zawiya Mountain reporting no human casualties.

Meanwhile, the armed factions targeted posts of Syrian government forces in the village of Ma’arat Mukhas and the city of Kafr Nabl, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells. As they also conducted a similar bombardment on the military sites of the government in the town of Miznaz, west of Aleppo, the sources added.

Despite of the ongoing ceasefire that was signed between Russia and Turkey in March of 2020, areas in Syria’s northwest are still witnessing military escalation.
