Russia, Turkey conduct joint patrol in Syria’s north Hasakah

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Russian Military Police and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol in the countryside of the city of Derbasiya, north of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles for both parties amid air cover.

The patrol set off from the border gate near Sherak village, west of Derbasiya. It roamed about eight villages in the countryside of the city, including Kisra village, which the Turkish forces recently targeted with artillery shells.

The areas of Abu Rasin (Zargan) in the countryside of Derbasiya and Tel Tamr in the countryside of Hasakah, are witnessing an escalation by Turkey resulted in causalities and significant material losses in residents’ properties and vital installations.

Since the Sochi agreement between Russia and Turkey following the incursion of the Turkish forces into the areas of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad late in 2019, joint patrols have been conducted in the countryside of Derbasiya and Kobani, northeast Syria.
