IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, nine trainees of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) and their trainer were killed and others wounded, in an explosion at a camp of them in the northern countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria, during combat training.
A source close to the HTS told North Press that the explosion took place in the afternoon in a training camp in the Tal Sandal area, between the towns of Ram Hamdan and Hazano in the northern countryside of Idlib.
He added that the explosion resulted in the killing of ten HTS militants, including the military trainer, and the injury of 15 others, who were taken to nearby medical points.
While a group of HTS trainees gathered to practice using a mortar, one of the shells exploded, according to the same source.
