Dead, wounded in tribal infightings in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a person was killed and four others were wounded in a tribal infighting in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
“The quarrel, which resulted in the death of one person and the injury of three others, took place between two families from al-Hamad tribe, due to old disputes between them,” said an eyewitness in the town of al-Hissan, 5 km west of Deir ez-Zor.
“The quarrel turned into a clash of weapons and the burning of houses amid the closure of shops and main roads,” he added.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) cordoned off the town and set up checkpoints to separate the two sides, according to the eyewitness.
Also, a person was wounded by a live bullet due to an old revenge action in the town of al-Garanij, 90 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
The person was transferred to Abu Hamam Hospital and he is in a stable condition, according to his relatives accompanying him in the hospital.
The towns of Deir ez-Zor countryside have a tribal character, and they witness family quarrels that may turn into infightings with weapons.
