Meeting of National Initiative for Afrin held in Germany
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The founding meeting of the National Initiative for Afrin was held on Sunday, under the slogan “Together for Afrin,” in the German city of Bonn.
This initiative aims to expose Turkey’s violations against residents of Syria’s Afrin to international institutions and human rights organizations participating in the initiative. Turkey has been accused of committing systematic violations against Afrin’s local population since their takeover of the region alongside their affiliated armed groups in 2018.
A special department was formed to supervise the meeting with the task of establishing human rights committees and others for documentation and archiving.
The documentation and archiving committees present the evidence and documents of Turkish violations to diplomatic committees, which in turn will show them to international institutions.
The supervisors of this initiative suggested the formation of an office, and the proposal was accepted. A committee for Afrin culture and art will also be formed.
A media conference will be held to announce this initiative, and a statement regarding this initiative and its objectives will be read.
