Syriac Military Council condemns Turkish shelling of Syria’s Tel Tamr countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syriac Military Council condemned the latest Turkish attacks on areas in Syria’s north and east.
The council demanded in a statement that Russia “play a more effective role in the cessation of hostilities in the de-escalation zone and take positive position over the Turkish violations including shelling of civilians, civil and education institutions which violate the international convictions.”
Last week, Turkish forces successively shelled villages and towns in the countryside of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria.
The Syriac Military Council stressed their right to respond within the framework of legitimate defense.
“The Turkish posts and bases from which fires and artillery shells were launched were targeted,” the statement pointed out.
