Syrian regime soldier wounded by Turkish shelling in Syria’s Tel Tamr
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a member of the government forces was wounded by the constant Turkish bombardment on Tel Tamr town, northeast Syria.
Late on Saturday, Turkish forces renewed bombing the villages of Umm al-Keif, al-Dardara and Tel Shinan in the countryside of Tel Tamr with heavy artillery shells and mortars. The bombardment continued intermittently until 6:30 a.m. this morning.
“About 40 shells indiscriminately fell on the region,” according to a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council.
The bombardment wounded a member of the government forces in Umm al-Keif village, who was transferred to a hospital in Tel Tamr. Moreover, the bombardment left material damage to the properties of the residents in the aforementioned villages.
Recently, the countryside of the towns of Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin has been witnessing repeated attacks by Turkish forces and pro-Turkish armed factions with heavy weapons.
The General Command of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a statement on Friday that their forces “will not stand by regarding Turkish attacks” and that “losing officials, fighters, and civilians” will not pass without a response.
