Political parties must supervise administration work: Syrian politician

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a Syrian politician said that the political parties in northeastern Syria are required to be a supervisory body over the work of the institutions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

“The political parties should take into account the recent experience of the AANES, and the goal of supervision body should be to correct mistakes, not to defame them,” head of the Syrian National Democratic Alliance Party in Raqqa Yahya Mahmoud said.

On Wednesday, the National Democratic Party held a discussion session in the city of Raqqa, which was attended by representatives of some political parties in the region.

The session defined the political parties, their types, directions, and the role they should play in society by conveying the voice of the people represented by these parties.

“The multi-party system in northeast Syria should be a source of enrichment for the experience of the AANES so that they can move together towards political and administrative stability,” Mahmoud added.

“Inviting political parties to elections aims at changing the AANES to the best and most appropriate form to fit the aspirations of the region’s residents,” he considered.

The AANES-held areas have become “the destination for many residents of other Syrian regions. In addition, many Syrians follow-up on the administration’s experience and what is happening in northeastern Syria,” he referred.
