Mutual shelling continues in Syria’s Idlib, Hama

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Syrian government forces bombed the positions of the opposition factions in the southern countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria, with shells and rockets. 

Military sources of the opposition told North Press that the government forces bombed the fortifications of the opposition in the villages and towns of al-Bara, Kansafra, al-Fatirah and Sfuhun, in Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, with artillery shells and rocket launchers.

The sources added that the bombing resulted in widespread destruction, without reports on casualties.

The bombing coincided with intense flight of warplanes and drones over Idlib, Hama and Aleppo, without recording any airstrikes, according to the same sources.

On August 16, a person was killed and another wounded due to the government forces’ bombing on opposition factions’ positions in the town of Mashoun in the southern countryside of Idlib.
