SDF member wounded by gunmen in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was wounded by unidentified gunmen in a town east of Deir ez-Zor city, east Syria.
“Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire at a member of the SDF when he was leaving the headquarters of his job in the town, a military source of the SDF from al-Basira town, east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press.
“The SDF member sustained bullets to his chest and foot,” the source added.
“He was later transferred to a hospital in the Omar oil field. His condition is critical and needs surgery to remove the bullet from his chest,” according to a doctor in the hospital.
Recently, the Deir ez-Zor countryside has witnessed an increase in assassination attempts against members of the Syrian Democratic Forces, employees of the Autonomous Administration institutions, clan dignitaries, and civilians of the region, some of which have been claimed by ISIS.
On Monday, a resident was killed by unidentified gunmen in the town of Jazarat al-Buhamid, west of Deir ez-Zor.
