Two Syrian IDPs killed in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) found the bodies of two displaced Syrians in their tent in the fourth sector in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

A source in the Asayish said that the two IDPs were in their thirties, from the countryside of Aleppo, and were found killed by gunshots to the head and back in their tent.

He added that the killing was carried out by unknown persons believed to be from the Islamic State (ISIS) cells, at midnight on Monday.

On Friday, gunmen killed an Iraqi refugee near his tent in the first sector of the camp.

Hawl Camp houses more than 16,000 families, or approximately 60,000 people of about 50 nationalities, the majority of whom are Iraqis and Syrians.

Since mid-April, the camp, which is located on the southern side of the town of al-Hawl, has recorded about 28 killings of Syrians and Iraqis in the camp using guns, according to security sources (Asayish).
