Turkish-backed factions arrest two residents of Syria’s Afrin
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, one of the Turkish-backed SNA formations, arrested a resident from Jindires district of Afrin region, northwest Syria.
“Members of Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement arrested Haydar Al Emmo, who is from al-Ramadiyeh village, under the pretext of cooperating with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) before the Turkish occupation of Afrin in March 2018,” a local source told North Press.
The military operation named, Olive Branch, by Turkey and Turkish-backed armed factions in 2018 on Afrin, caused the displacement of more than 300,000 people, according to the Human Rights Organization – Afrin.
“Emmo was detained at the faction’s headquarters in the district center of Jindires, to be later transferred with others to an unknown place. His fate is still unlearned,” the source added.
Yesterday, the Civil Police detained a resident of the village of Satiya of Jindires at the entrance to the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo.
“The detainee was residing in Tel Qrah village in the northern countryside of Aleppo before returning to his village after the armed factions reassured his family to keep him safe if he returned to the area and settled his situation,” an exclusive source told North Press.
on August 11, a Turkish-backed armed faction in the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin, northwest Syria, imposed large sums of money on Afrin IDPs in turn for their return to their homes in Afrin.
In a meeting held by the Turkish-backed al-Amshat faction in Shiyeh district, west of Afrin, the residents were told to inform their IDP relatives to pay $2,000 in exchange for their return to their houses.
