Iraqi refugee killed, three wounded in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, an Iraqi refugee was killed and three others were wounded by unknown individuals believed to be affiliated with ISIS sleeper cells in Hawl Camp, northeast Syria.

“An Iraqi refugee was killed in the market of the first sector of the camp and two other Iraqi refugees and a Syrian IDP were wounded,” a source of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) told North Press.

“The wounded were immediately transferred to al-Hikma Hospital in Hasakah,” the source added.

On Saturday, unidentified persons believed to be affiliated with ISIS sleeper cells killed a Syrian IDP in the camp.

Since mid-April, the camp, which is located on the southern side of the town of al-Hawl, has recorded about 24 killings of Syrians and Iraqis in the camp using guns, according to the Asayish.
