Turkish forces bomb several villages in Syria’s Hasakah countryside

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press)On Wednesday, the Turkish army and the affiliated opposition factions bombed six villages in the countryside of Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, wounding members of Syrian government forces.

“The Turkish army and the opposition factions targeted the populated villages of al-Dardara, Tel Shenan and Umm al-Keif in the countryside of Tel Tamr, with a barrage of shells,” a source of the Tel Tamr Military Council affiliated with the SDF told North Press.

The village of al-Dardara was previously bombed during the day.

The Turkish artillery also targeted a military point of the Syrian government forces in the village of Umm al-Keif, north of Tel Tamr, wounding two members and an old woman.

The wounded were hospitalized to Martyr Legarin Hospital in Tel Tamr for treatment.

The Turkish mortar and artillery shells hit the villages of Rabi’a and Tel al-Ward in the countryside of Abu Rasin, causing material damage to private property, according to residents.

“The Turkish bombing also caused the displacement of families towards the surrounding villages,” a resident of Tel Tamr told North press.

Yesterday, a woman and her child were injured due to the Turkish bombardment while leaving their village, Ain al-Abed, east of Tel Tamr town.

Since their invasion of the areas of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad in late 2019, the Turkish army and the affiliated opposition factions have stationed at military points inside the Syrian territory in the countryside of Hasakah and Raqqa.
