Casualty, wounded in bus explosion in Syria’s Damascus
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A soldier was killed and three others were wounded Wednesday in an explosion of a military bus in the Republican Guard housing area near the Dummar project, west of Damascus.
There were conflicting reports about the cause of the explosion, as the pro-government SANA agency, quoting a knowledgeable source, stated that it was caused by an electrical short that caused the bus’s fuel tank to explode and ignite.
Activists said that the cause of the accident was a technical failure inside the bus that caused the explosion, while others said that the accident was caused by an explosive device.
SANA said that the explosion occurred in an overnight military bus at the entrance to the guards’ residence near Dummar project in Damascus, killing the bus driver and wounding three others who were taken to the hospital.
