YET… final ceasefire not reached in Syria’s Daraa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Meetings will successively be held today on Saturday in order to reach a final agreement in the event that both parties agreed to all terms, a member of the Central Committee in Daraa, south Syria, said on Saturday.

Yesterday, the Central Committee in Daraa, which is assigned to negotiate in their meeting with the Syrian government security committee with the attendance of representatives of the Russian-backed Fifth Corps,  reached a ceasefire agreement.

Yesterday, the Syrian government forces opened al-Saray checkpoint, which links between Daraa al-Balad region and the besieged neighborhoods and the city center of Daraa.

Dozens of civilian families passed through the checkpoint for fear of the government shelling in the event that a ceasefire is not reached.

Meanwhile, an exchange of bodies, which all died on al-Ray checkpoint north of Tafas, Daraa western countryside, on July 29, took place between the government forces and local armed individuals.

Additionally, the government forces withdrew several military checkpoints that were located between the cities and towns as they fortified others in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

Yesterday, the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria announced, “Syrian Army managed to stabilize the governorate of Daraa, south the country.”

“Armed individuals of an anti-government faction attacked a post of the Syrian Army in the governorate,” said Deputy Head of the Russian Center, Rear Admiral Vadim Kolet in a statement.

“On July 30, a ceasefire is announced,” Kolet added.
