Syria’s Daraa calm after days of security chaos

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Syria’s Daraa Governorate witnessed an uneasy calm during which the government forces’ reconnaissance aircraft flew over the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad and the besieged neighborhoods in the city.

A young man from Daraa, southern Syria, succumbed to his injuries after being targeted by government forces snipers on Friday.

A relative of the young man, Samer Mustafa al-Hammadi, told North Press that al-Hammadi died after being targeted Thursday by government forces on al-Sad Road neighborhood in Daraa.

Also Thursday, a woman and five children from one family died in a bombing by government forces on the town of al-Yadouda in the western countryside of Daraa.

Two people who were said to be civilians were also killed as a result of government bombing of Daraa al-Balad neighborhoods.
