SDF member, civilian wounded in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) member and a civilian were wounded by unidentified armed individuals a riding motorbike in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Unidentified armed individuals riding a motorbike, fired at an SDF member with a silenced pistol in a market in the town of al-Jazara, 70 kilometers west Deir ez-Zor, a military source from SDF in the town told North Press.

The unidentified individuals returned to kill the SDF member, who managed to hide himself in a shop in the market, the source added.

Meanwhile, the SDF member was transferred to the hospital of the town for treatment and is in good condition, according to a doctor in the hospital.

On Wednesday, unknown armed individuals fired at a civil car killing the driver.

A military source from the town of al-Sabha, 30 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unknown armed individuals riding a motorbike fired at the car of Yassin al-Saray, a resident from the town of al-Sabha, wounding him in the shoulder so that he was transferred to al-Busira hospital and, according to a doctor operating in the hospital, he is in a good condition.

“Al-Saray is a civilian who does not belong to any military or political group,” the source added.

Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing increasing assassinations against SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal figures, and civilians.

A week ago, an AANES employee was wounded by unknown individuals in the town of al-Jarzi, east Deir ez-Zor.
