SDF, Global Coalition arrest ISIS militants in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces and Global Coalition arrested militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) during a joint operation in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

With the aerial and ground support of theGlobal Coalition, the SDF managed to arrest four ISIS militants in an abandoned room on the outskirts of al-Zer town, 35 kilometers east Deir ez-Zor, a military source in the town said.

The operation was carried out according to confessions by ISIS militants who had been arrested earlier, the source told North Press.

SDF found Kalashnikovs, PK machine guns, and ammunition, in addition to paper documents that prove their involvement in security operations carried out by ISIS sleeper cells.

On Tuesday at dawn, SDF stormed several neighborhoods in the town of al-Shuhail, 40 kilometers east Deir ez-Zor, in order to pursue wanted individuals accused of belonging to ISIS.

Two days ago, the SDF arrested two ISIS militants in the town of al-Sabha, east Deir ez-Zor.
