Russia, Turkey conduct joint patrol in Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian military police conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the western countryside of Syria’s Kobani, the 64th  patrol between the two forces since Russian-Turkish ceasefire was signed in northeast Syria.

The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set out from the village of Ashmah, 20 kilometers east of Kobani.

It roamed the villages of Jarqli Foqani, Jebnah, Katch, Jub al-Faraj, Binder, Qara Qawi, Kola, Susan, reaching a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) near a radio tower seven kilometers west of Kobani.

Immediately after that, the patrol returned to the starting point in the village of Ashmah, passing through the villages of Seftak, Buban, Khor Khoury, Dikmdash, Qaran, and Jarqli Foqani.

After that, Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near the village of Ashmah, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near a radio tower seven kilometers west of Kobani.

On June 19, Russian and Turkish forces conducted the 63th joint patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
