Autonomous Administration employee wounded in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, an employee of the Autonomous Administration was wounded by unidentified gunmen in a town, east Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot Ahmed al-Ali, an employee of the municipality of al-Jardhi of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, a local source from the town of al-Jardhi, 70 km east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press.

Al-Ali sustained three bullet wounds to different parts of his body, according to the source.

He was transferred to a hospital in Hasakah for treatment, “and his condition is very serious,” according to what one of the doctors told the source.

Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has witnessed an increase in assassinations of members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), employees of the Autonomous Administration institutions, clan notables and civilian residents.

 Two days ago, both the Islamic State (ISIS) and the government forces, through media outlets close to them, claimed the assassination of an SDF member in the town of Abu Hamam, east of Deir ez-Zor.

Last Thursday, a civilian was shot by unidentified gunmen in the town of al-Busayrah in Deir ez-Zor countryside. In another incident, unidentified gunmen stormed a house, killing two women, and wounding a man and two children in the town on the same day.
