Unidentified gunmen open fire in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, casualties reported
Deir ez-Zor, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a civilian was killed and two others were wounded by unidentified gunmen who were riding a motorcycle in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source from the town of al-Shuhail, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that a civilian lost his life and two others, who were accompanying him in a civilian car, were wounded when unidentified gunmen shot them on the main road in the town.
“The dead man was working as the head of the commune council in one of the neighborhoods of the town of al-Jarthi, east of Deir ez-Zor,” the source added.
The two injured were taken to al-Omar Field Hospital for treatment, and they are in a very critical condition, according to a doctor in the hospital.
Today morning, residents of the town of al-Kasra found the body of the young man, Ahmed al-Kreidi, who had been shot in the head.
“The young man was a civilian and did not belong to any political or military faction,” a source from the town said.
