Turkish forces make false claims about YPG grave: SDF Commander
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Mazloum Abdi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, said on Friday that photos published by Turkish media two days ago show a cemetery of fighters who fell in defense of the city in the face of the Turkish attacks in 2018.
Last Wednesday, the Turkish Anadolu Agency published pictures of corpses exhumed from under the dirt, claiming that it was a mass grave.
Abdi tweeted that “Turkish occupation forces are making false claims [that] a cemetery of YPG martyrs who fell in the defense of Afrin during the invasion is a ‘mass grave.'”

“We call on the international community to investigate Turkish and militia crimes in Afrin and stop crimes against humanity,” he added.
On Thursday, residents and settlers in Afrin stated that the bodies belonged to fighters in the People’s Protection Units (YPG) who lost their lives during the last battles in the Turkish attacks, and were hastily buried amid the continuous air bombardment at the time.
