Syria’s northwest witness mutual shelling between government, armed factions
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria, witnessed renewal of the mutual shelling between Turkish-backed armed factions and Syrian government forces.
Government forces targeted the towns of al-Fatira, Kfar Aweed, Sufuhun, and the outskirts of Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain, south Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and missiles, military sources from the armed factions told North Press.
Meanwhile, the government forces in Jurin Camp targeted the neighboring villages in Ghab Plain, west Hama, where the towns of al-Zeyarah and al-Enkawi and the village of Khirbat al-Naqus witnessed artillery and missile shelling, the sources added.
On Tuesday at dawn, Turkish forces in Zawiya Mountain shelled government forces’ posts in the town of Khan Assubul, southeast Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and missiles, according to military sources from the armed factions.
Turkish-backed armed factions managed to destroy Kornet base of the Syrian government forces in Milaja, south Idlib, after targeting it with a missile, according to the same sources.
