Children’s art festival starts in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the children’s music and theatre festival started in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, and was attended by hundreds of children with their parents.
The Bara’em al-Tofoulah (Childhood Buds) festival was held on its first day at the al-Taj Hall in the city with the participation of children’s teams which presented artistic, theatrical and lyrical performances from the folklore.
“The attendance of children and their parents at the festival for the second year, is evidence of stability in the city of Raqqa,” said Sa’ad Gaheis, co-chair of the Raqqa Center for Culture and Arts which organized the festival, said.
“The Raqqa Center for Culture and Arts sent public invitations to the population to attend the festival several days ago, and it intensified efforts to train the children about a month ago in preparation for the start of the festival,” he added.
The festival is scheduled to continue until the end of this week, and will include performances in the towns of al-Karamah, al-Salhabiyah and the village of Ratlah in the countryside of Raqqa.
In July 2020, the Raqqa Center for Culture and Arts organized a first festival for children which entitled Bara’em al-Tofoulah (Childhood Buds), after the city had missed such activities during the years of the Syrian war.
