MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Head of the Turkmen Association in Manbij, north Syria, said on Monday that Turkmens of Manbij stand with all the other communities of Kurds, Arabs, Circassians, and with the Civil Administration against all the challenges and threats that the city faces.

The Turkmen Association was established in Manbij in April, 2018, with the aim of recognizing about the problems of the Turkmens families’ in Manbij and solving them.

The recent Turkish bombing on the northern countryside of Manbij did not differentiate between one community and another, nor between civilians and military people, said Jawaher Othman, co-chair of the Turkmen Association in Manbij.

“The barbaric bombing, which lasted for three days, led to the displacement of residents of some villages from their homes,” she added.

“We, as Turkmen of Manbij, condemn and denounce the Turkish bombing on areas in northeast Syria, including the city of Manbij,” Othman added.

She called on Russia, as the guarantor of the ceasefire in the city of Manbij, to stop the Turkish violations and to protect the defenseless civilians in the city.

Since June 21, the Turkish forces and the opposition groups have targeted the northern countryside of Manbij, including the villages of al-Hoshariya and al-Sayada, with heavy and medium weapons.

This morning, the Turkish base in the village of al-Tokhar al-Kabir, northwest of Manbij, bombed the villages of Arab Hassan and Aoun al-Dadat with several mortar shells, without reports of casualties.
