Landmine explosion leaves casualties in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, three children lost their lives and two others were wounded in the explosion of a landmine left behind by the Islamic State (ISIS) near Tishrin Dam, 20 km southeast of Manbij, north Syria.
The children found the mine while they were grazing the sheep and brought it home without telling their parents, eyewitnesses from the area told North Press.
The mine exploded while the children were playing with it, and as a result, three children were killed instantly and two others were wounded, the source added.
The source pointed out that the two wounded children were taken to Dar al Shifa Hospital in Manbij, and their conditions are stable.
On June 12, a landmine exploded in the village of Abu Qalqal near Tishrin Dam, as a result of which a civilian was injured and was taken to the village hospital for treatment.
On June 10, a member of the Hawari (Rapid Response) forces of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) lost his life as a result of the explosion of a mine planted near al-Fath Mosque in the western side of Manbij, while a patrol of the Hawari forces was passing.
