Iraqi Minister of Interior and a Kurdish delegation discuss security issues

ERBIL, KRG Iraq (North Press) – On Thursday, the Iraqi Minister of the Interior discussed with a security delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) strengthening security in the border areas, installing thermal cameras in them, and supporting joint forces with military equipment.

In a statement seen by North Press, the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior said that Iraqi Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi met a high-level Kurdish delegation.

The delegation included security officials, including the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs in KRG, Jabbar Yawar.

They discussed strengthening security in the border areas, supporting joint forces with equipment, and intensifying work on installing thermal cameras, especially within the sector of responsibility of the Third Brigade of the First Region Command within the borders of Sulaymaniyah Governorate as well as Halabja, according to the statement.

According to the statement of the Ministry of the Interior, al-Ghanmi said during the meeting that the defense forces of the KRG played a major role in defeating ISIS and combating crime.
