American, Russian forces patrol in Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – This week, both the American and Russian forces conducted three patrols in Derik countryside, far northeast Syria.

On May 29, Russian military police conducted a patrol in the vicinity of the village of Ain Diwar, local sources said.

The patrol consisted of two military armored vehicles covered by two helicopters.

This coincided with the US forces conducting a military patrol north of the city of Derik, reaching the village of Jam Sharaf.

The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles covered by two helicopters, local sources from the village told North Press.

Members of the patrol met with the residents of the village and asked them about their living and service conditions, the sources added.

On May 31, the Russian forces conducted a patrol of three armored vehicles without air cover, northwest of Derik, reaching the village of Ain Diwar.

Like Russian forces, the US forces conducted a military patrol of four armored vehicles without air cover in the countryside of al-Jawadiyah, south of Derik.

Yesterday, the Russian military police conducted a patrol in the northern and western countryside of Derik.

The two-armored vehicle patrol reached the village of Ain Diwar without air cover.

This coincided with the conduct of an American patrol consisting of four armored vehicles and two helicopters east of Derik, reaching the village of al-Zuhairiya, on the border with Turkey.
