Syria’s Idlib witnesses mutual shelling, Russian aircraft flight
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, areas in the de-escalation zone in Idlib witnessed renewing mutual shelling between Turkish-backed armed groups and Syrian government forces amidst intensive flight by Russian warplanes.
Damascus government forces targeted the posts of the armed groups in the villages and towns of Kansafra, Sufuhun, al-Fatirah, and al-Bara in Zawiya Mountain, south Idlib countryside, with heavy artillery shells and rockets, sources from the armed groups told North Press.
The shelling left massive material loses in public and private properties reporting no human casualties, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Syrian armed groups responded to the government shelling by targeting their posts in Zawiya Mountain with heavy artillery shells and rockets.
The shelling coincided with intensive flight of Russian warplanes and drones over Idlib, Hama, and Latakia countryside reporting no airstrikes, according to the source.
