Armed clashes leave casualties in Syria’s Suwayda

SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday night, three armed men were killed and a woman was wounded as a result of an armed clash between two unidentified groups in al-Muqawas neighborhood, east of Suwayda, south Syria.

Syria’s Suwayda has been witnessing security chaos and the formation of armed groups and gangs under government security protection amidst increasing crimes, according to reports.

An armed group attacked a house, east the city, where three armed men and a woman were in, Rafi al-Alamin (pseudonym), a policeman in the city, told North Press.

During the clash, which lasted for about half an hour, the three armed men were killed and the woman got wounded and they were transferred to a hospital in the city, according to the source.

The sources added that the government security apparatus in Suwayda did not intervene in the incident except after casualties reported and the armed men managed to escape.
