Unidentified persons killed two SDF members in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, unidentified individuals shot dead two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
“Gunmen, who were riding a motorbike, fired at an SDF patrol in the town of Sweidan, east of Deir ez-Zor, killing two SDF members,” a military source said.
No party claimed responsibility for the targeting, while ISIS is accused of that, as it is active in the area.
Every now and then, the SDF launches security operations to pursue ISIS sleeper cells.
On May 1, unidentified persons attacked an SDF checkpoint in the town of Jazrat Albo Hemeid, in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, killing one SDF member and wounding three others.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnesses several assassinations that target SDF members, Asayish members, tribes’ notables and Autonomous Administration employees.
