Partial curfew starts in Syria’s Euphrates region

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Crisis Management Team in the Euphrates region announced the end of the total lockdown imposed on Kobani, Sirrin, Tel Abyad and their countryside, northern Syria, and the start of implementing the partial curfew in compliance with the decision issued by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

“The partial curfew decision will be implemented from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until May 6,” Azza Ibrahim, co-chair of the Health Board and a member of the Crisis Management Team in the Euphrates region, said.

“The Team will take other measures depending on the infections and the extent of the virus’s spread in the Euphrates region after the partial curfew ends,” Ibrahim added.

During April, the number of coronavirus infections in the Euphrates region reached 160 cases, while they inclined to only seven cases in the last ten days of the complete lockdown, which is a significant decrease, according to the Team.

On April 22, the Crisis Management Team in the Euphrates region announced the start of 10-day total lockdown in its areas in Kobani, Sirrin, and their countryside, and the countryside of Tel Abyad, to end at 7 pm on Sunday.
