Turkey sends more reinforcements to northwest Syria

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a Turkish military convoy entered Idlib to reinforce its observation points deployed in Idlib region, northwest Syria.

Speaking to North Press, military sources said that a Turkish military convoy, consisting of more than 20 vehicles, carrying logistical equipment and cement blocks, entered Syria on Sunday, from Kafr Losin border crossing in north of Idlib.

The convoy headed towards the Turkish military points within the de-escalation zone, in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, according to the sources.

There are about 13,000 Turkish troops, as well as 9,000 Turkish military vehicles in the area included in an agreement between Moscow and Ankara, according to press reports.

Turkish reinforcements coincided with the continuing mutual exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and opposition groups in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Turkey has set up about 65 military points and deployed about 13,000 soldiers and about 9,000 military vehicles, in the area included in the ceasefire agreement signed between Turkey and Russia on March 5, 2020, in Idlib.
