Gunmen attack SDF in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, casualties reported
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, gunmen attacked a checkpoint of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of Jazrat Albo Hemeid in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, leaving casualties among the SDF.
Gunmen, who were riding a motorbike, raided a military checkpoint of the SDF in the town and fired at the members, killing one and wounding three others as a result, a local source said.
The wounded were transferred to the hospital of the town, the source added.
On April 13, unknown individuals shot dead a member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the town of al-Keber in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing several assassination operations that targeted SDF fighters, Asayish members, and employees of the Autonomous Administration institutions in addition to tribes’ notables.
