Child killed, 2 civilians wounded by pro-Syrian government NDF’s bullets in Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a child was killed and another child and a young man were wounded by the targeting of the pro-Syrian government NDF near al-Wahda Roundabout in the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria.

”6-year-old Muhammad Mahmoud was killed, and another child and a young man were seriously wounded to be later transferred to Ferman Hospital in the city,” administrator of the Kurdish Red Crescent in Qamishli Ferhan Suleiman said.

”14-year-old Ahmed Hamoud was shot by a sniper and 30-year-old Ahmed al-Rusli was wounded by shrapnel,” Director of Ferman Hospital in Qamishli Iyad Abdulkarim told North Press.

“The child will undergo surgery; as for the young man, his wounds are superficial,” Abdulkarim added.

A source from the Asayish in Qamishli said that its forces began a combing campaign inside al-Tai neighborhood after NDF gunmen violated the truce and targeted civilians and homes with bullets and shells.

”Talks with the government mediated by Russia have not reached a final agreement yet, and negotiations are continuing despite the violations of the truce by the NDF gunmen,” co-chair of the Internal Body in the AANES, Hevi Mustafa, told North Press this morning.

Since Tuesday, Qamishli has been witnessing clashes between the Asayish and militants from the pro-government NDF.
