US deputy envoy meets with Syria’s ENKS
ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – The US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria, David Brownstein, discussed the intra-Kurdish dialogue with the head of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), Saud al-Mella.
The US official stressed the need to expand the dialogue to include all communities of the region.
The meeting took place at the US Consulate in Erbil, in the presence of Sa’eed Omar, official of the relations office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria.
Earlier on Monday, Brownstein met with ENKS officials, Abdulhakim Bashar, Ibrahim Biro and Sa’eed Omar.
On April 18, Brownstein met with the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, and President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani.
The intra-Kurdish dialogue started with an initiative launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander-in-Chief, General Mazloum Abdi to unify the Kurdish position under American sponsorship following the Turkish military operation on northeast Syria in October 2019.
