Shooting, Turkish drone seen over Syria’s Tel Tamr
TEL-TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, intensive gunfire was heard in the town of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, after about a month of uneasy calm in the town adjacent to the areas that the Turkish forces and their affiliated groups controlled in 2019.
the gunfire was caused by a Turkish drone flying over the area, North Press correspondent, citing a private source of Tel Tamr Military Council, said.
Fighters of Tel Tamr Military Council fired at the drone in an attempt to keep it away, the source added.
On March 26, the Turkish army bombed the village of al- Dardara in the town’s countryside with artillery and mortar shells.
The town of Tel Tamr, 45 km north of Hasakah, has been turned into a contact line after the Turkish army and the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups stationed on its outskirts after they took control of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad areas in October 2019.
Turkish drones hover on the contact lines in Tel Tamr area from time to time, in an effort to monitor the military points of Tel Tamr Military Council, according to the source.
