SDF arrests five ISIS members in Syria’s east Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – on Saturday-Sunday night, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested five people accused of belonging to ISIS cells in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
A military source told North Press that the SDF, with air support of the Global Coalition, arrested five ISIS agents in Hawaij Ziban town, 45 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor.
The sources added that medium weapons and mobile phones were found with them.
On Saturday, two employees in the Charitable al-Bir Wal Ihsan Association, Watin Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Rashid al-Muhaimid, were shot to death by unknown persons in the town of Shuhail, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
The SDF has intensified its military operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor to pursue ISIS members and cells that still pose a threat to the lives of the residents and employees of that region.
On April 14, the SDF arrested four ISIS members in the towns of al-Riz and Ziban in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
