Preparations to open third quarantine center in Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – We will open a third quarantine center for coronavirus patients after the rest of the centers are completely full, head of the Primary Health Care Directorate in Raqqa Civil Council, Ali Abdul Aziz, said on Saturday.

The Health Committee of the Raqqa Civil Council has two quarantine centers, the first is the Red Crescent Center, next to the National Hospital, and the second is al-Nahda Center, in addition to the “Triage” section for conducting medical swabs for suspected coronavirus cases.

The two centers include 40 infections; of which 28 are in the Red Crescent Center and 12 in al-Nahda Center.

“The Health Committee solved the problem of the lack of oxygen tanks through securing subsidized fuel for oxygen factories by the Raqqa Civil Council,” Abdul Aziz told North Press.

He called the residents to fully adhere by the implementation of the complete lockdown decision, due to the severity of the third wave of coronavirus that the region is going through.

The number of people infected with #coronavirus in the regions of northeast #Syria until today, has reached 13,579 confirmed cases, including 448 deaths and 1,430 recoveries.

On April 12, the Health Board issued an urgent appeal to all international organizations, primarily the WHO, to immediately intervene and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in northeast Syria.
