Government forces continue shelling armed groups’ positions in Syria’s Idlib, Latakia

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, Syrian government forces renewed their artillery and missile strikes on the positions of the Turkish-backed armed groups in Idlib and Latakia, northwest Syria.

Military sources from the armed groups told North Press that the government forces targeted the positions of the armed groups in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers.

The government forces bombed the towns of al-Fatira, Kansafra and Sufuhn from their position in the outskirt of Kafr Nabl in the countryside of Idlib.

In Latakia countryside, government forces renewed their artillery shelling on the hills of al-Kabina in Jabal al-Akrad, north of Idlib, without any casualties reported, according to the sources.

The bombardment coincided with an intense flight of Russian aircraft and drones over Idlib, Hama, Latakia and Aleppo countryside, without any air strikes being recorded.

On Friday, the government forces shelled the positions of the armed groups in the towns of al-Fatira and Kansafra in the Zawiya Mountain.
