Opposition members killed in Syria’s Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, an officer of the pro-Turkish Civil Police was killed in the vicinity of the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, while the body of a member of the Military Police was found north of the same city.
“Unknown persons shot Lieutenant Khaled al-Khatib, known as Abu Jamal, dead, who was a member of the Civil Police in al-Bab, while he was going to work this morning,” a special source told North Press.
Also, the body of Jum’a al-Akon, member of the Military Police, was found near Susyan village, north of al-Bab.
Areas under the control of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, northwest Syria, witness frequent assassinations and bombings, amid the groups’ inability to settle security.
The city of al-Bab, 30 km from the Turkish border, has been under the control of the Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition groups since 2017.
