Syrian Democratic Forces arrest prominent ISIS official in Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Special Units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with support of the US-led Global Coalition to fight the Islamic State (ISIS), arrested ISIS official who was responsible for delivering ammunition to ISIS sleeper cells inside Hawl Camp, northeast Syria, a military source of SDF said on Thursday.
“The arrested person was responsible for the external security operations of ISIS, and he contributed to facilitating the arrival of ammunition to ISIS sleeper cells inside Hawl Camp,” the source added.
The source pointed out that the arrested person had planned to carry out operations with improvised explosive devices, creating chaos and undermining security and stability efforts in the region.
The SDF forces confiscated an amount of ammunition and documents which were with the ISIS official, according to SDF Media Center.
