Syrian government-held areas announce seven coronavirus deaths

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the information office of the Health Ministry in the Syrian government recorded 105 new coronavirus infections and seven deaths in its areas of control.

The government information office stated on Facebook account that the new deaths were three in Damascus, two in Latakia and one each in Homs and Rif Dimashq, as recorded 110 recoveries.

Recently, the government-held areas have been witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of the coronavirus cases amid the government’s suspension of school day and universities.

The new recorded cases were 27 in Latakia, 18 in Damascus, 14 in Hama, seven in Homs, 10 in each of Rif Dimashq, Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah, nine in Homs, five in Aleppo, and two in Daraa.

The total toll of infection in the government-held areas has come up to 20,331 including 1,385 deaths and 14,122 recoveries.
