Syria’s Autonomous Administration issues 30% salary increase
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) issued a 30% salary increase of its employees starting from April.
According to the decision, this increase applies to employees who work according to legal work contracts with institutions affiliated with AANES, with the exception of experience contracts.
In May, AANES issued a 150% salary increase over the lump-sum salary of its employees.
Syria is witnessing a stifling economic crisis as a result of the international sanctions on Damascus government for committing crimes against civilians and the usage of chemical weapons in its infightings.
On Tuesday, the AANES said that it had discussed the application of the Workers Act, “the possibility of implementing it next month, and the approval of the 2021 budget this April.”
