Syrian government-held areas record 8 coronavirus deaths, 110 new infections

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the information office of the Health Ministry in the Syrian government recorded 110 new coronavirus infections and 8 deaths in its areas of control.

The government information office stated on Facebook account that the new deaths were three in Damascus, two in each of Latakia and Deir ez-Zor and one in Homs.

Recently, the government-held areas have been witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of the coronavirus cases amid warnings of the health system collapse there.

The new recorded cases were 25 in Latakia, 21 in Aleppo, 18 in Damascus, 15 in Suwayda, 8 in Hama, 7 in Homs, 4 in Daraa, and three in Deir ez-Zor.

Meanwhile, the information office announced the registration of 115 new recoveries.

The total toll of infection in the government-held areas has come up to 20,118 including 1,368 deaths and 13,895 recoveries.
